ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — A crash Saturday night involving a motorcyclist and SUV has left two dead.

The accident happened at the intersection of FM 105 and Lakeview Cutoff in Orange County around 7:00 pm, according to Texas DPS Sgt. Stephanie Davis.

According to reports, a 2002 Honda motorcycle was traveling southbound on FM 105 while a 2012 Toyota SUV was traveling in the opposite direction and stopped to make a left turn.

While turning left, the driver of the SUV failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with the motorcycle. The collision caused the motorcycle to get trapped underneath the SUV and the motorcyclist to be thrown.

When first responders arrived, both drivers were pronounced dead. It is known that the driver of the motorcycle was Tony Stanley, 48, of Spurger, and the passenger, Angie Stanley, 40, of Lumberton.

Both the driver of the Toyota and the passenger were transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

All lanes of FM 105 were closed while Troopers investigated the crash.
