HOUSTON, Texas — A fatal two-vehicle crash has left three dead and two injured in northwest Houston. The collision happened near the intersection of FM 529 and Fairview Street.
According to reports, a black Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on FM 529 and was turning into a gas station when a silver Honda that was traveling westbound struck the Ford.
Upon impact, the truck driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle. The three passengers of the Honda died at the scene and the driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
Sean Teare the Chief of Harris County District Attorney’s office vehicular crimes division stated that “we had an individual who was simply trying to turn into a gas station and we have another car, which we believe was traveling at a high rate of speed crashes into him. (He) kills three people in his own car and is going to potentially kill the driver of that truck.”
Harris County Sheriff’s Office suspects that speed and alcohol are the cause of the accident. “Within the next day, I anticipate us filing three intoxication manslaughter charges against the driver of that silver Honda and one intoxication assault for the driver of the truck” Teare said.
Teare also stated that additional charges could be filed if the driver of the pick-up does not survive.
The identities of the three victims have not yet been released.
